Stuart Oke is a first-generation farmer who lives and works in North Augusta, Ontario. Alongside his partner Nikki, he runs Rooted Oak farm, a vegetable and cut flower farm. Together they grow and sell their farm products at farmers markets, through their summer and winter CSA programs, and through wholesale buyers throughout the capital region. Stuart is the former Youth President for the National Farmers Union a position that allowed him to advocate for New Farmer and Climate issues and is the lead author on the recently released report: Who Will Feed Us: New Farmer Perspectives on Agriculture for the Future. Stuart is the vice-president for Canadian Organic Growers, is a member of the policy committee for the national farmer coalition, Farmers for Climate Solutions and is the Communications and Membership Manager for the Organic Council of Ontario.
