The agroforestry practice of Silvopasture combines grazing animals, forages, and trees in an interconnected system. This session steps beyond the basics, to discuss how silvopasture can be effectively implemented both in converting woodlands to improve forage quality for livestock and planting trees into pasture systems. Learn the steps to take in order to transition marginal areas of the farm into productive areas and meet your goals for production and improved habitat, water quality, and more. Steve Gabriel, author of Silvopasture, will offer examples from Wellspring Forest Farm where he and his family are working to transition many different areas of the landscape in silvopasture.
